JX Advanced Metals to Cut Copper Output Amid Profit Squeeze

Japanese smelter JX Advanced Metals plans to reduce its copper production by tens of thousands of tons in fiscal 2025, citing eroded margins caused by falling treatment and refining charges and a global shortage of copper concentrate. The company also unveiled plans to downscale its annual smelting capacity of 450,000 tons by March.
